over Buddy Colt / Notes: DeMarco won his match when he turned the Challenger’s mask around, and taking advantage of his temporary lack of vision. The Bockwinkel-
Scarpa match was a rematch from May 29, 1970. It was to determine a champion for the vacant title, but because of the finish on May 29, 1970, the title remained vacant
pending a rematch set for June 5, 1970. Assassin #2 (01) had previously been the champion, but the title was declared vacant on May 23, 1970, as he had been
suspended. During Bockwinkel’s match against Geohagen, Scarpa charged the ring and attacked Bockwinkel, bringing the match to an end. It was announced that the
Gladiator (01) would be wrestling in Atlanta on June 12, 1970.

Mongol to retain the title / Notes: It was reported that when Bockwinkel forced Mongol to submit with the figure four leglock, that it was the first time Mongol had ever
conceded a match. Bockwinkel had been the reigning Georgia Heavyweight Champion since he went over Assassin #1 (01) on April 17, 1970. Homer O’Dell managed
Colt and Von Stroheim. It was announced that the Missouri Mauler and the Challenger (01) would be wrestling in Atlanta on June 19, 1970, card, and the Challenger
would unmask in order to participate in a tournament to determine a challenger to wrestle the NWA World Heavyweight Champion on June 26, 1970. The program for
this card reports that there were fans who were persistently alleging that the Gladiator and the Missouri Mauler were actually the Assassins (01) (Assassin #1 (01) and
Assassin #2 (01)) under different masks.

Scarpa & El Mongol* to win the title / Notes: Homer O’Dell was handcuffed to Leon Ogle during the Colt/Von Stroheim-Scarpa/Mongol match. Scarpa and Mongol had
been the reigning Macon Tag Team Champions since they went over O’Dell and Colt on March 17, 1970, in Macon. O’Dell managed Colt and Von Stroheim.

Torres by referee decision to advance; Bobby Shane over Paul DeMarco by referee decision to advance; the Missouri Mauler over El Mongol by disqualification to
advance; Bockwinkel over Gilbert to advance; Shane over the Mauler by disqualification to advance; and Bockwinkel over Shane to win the tournament / Notes: O’Dell
managed Colt and Von Stroheim. As promised, the Challenger (01) unmasked prior to his match against DeMarco, revealing his identity as Bobby Shane. The
tournament was to determine a challenger to wrestle the NWA World Heavyweight Champion on June 26, 1970. It was reported that the purse for the tournament was
$3,000. Charlie Smith and Eddie Smith were credited as being referees for this card.

Funk, Jr., had been the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion since he went over Gene Kiniski on February 11, 1969, in Tampa, FL. O’Dell managed Colt and Von
Stroheim. Charlie Smith was credited as being a referee for this card. It was announced that there would be a tournament for the Georgia Tag Team Title on July 3, 1970.
It is unclear as to how the title became vacant. The last reference we have shows that Gunkel and Fuller, who had won the title when they went over the Assassins (01)
(Assassin #1 (01) and Assassin #2 (01)) on March 27, 1970, in Atlanta, were still recognized as champions in the program for the card on May 1, 1970.
